Corporate Development Analyst – Almonte, ON

3Sixty Secure Corp is seeking a high-performing individual with strong business acumen to join us as the Corporate Development Analyst. The Corporate Development Analyst’s principal objective is the enhancement of the 3Sixty’s shareholder value. You will be responsible for the evaluation of investment opportunities, execution of M&A and investment transactions, and the supervision of our existing investment portfolio, including contributions to strategic, commercial and competitive positioning of our holdings. Tasked with assisting with Private Equity management, you will play a key role in the evaluation, execution and monitoring of new and existing investments, serving as the key resource to executive management on financial, deal, and contractual matters central to the investment, acquisition and divestiture process. Accountable and responsible for establishing the structure, strategy, and market positioning of any new private equity entity, as well as hands-on leadership of all aspects of investment activity, from origination to exit, with the goal of investing a significant amount of capital annually into high-quality opportunities that meet 3Sixty’s financial and strategic criteria. The ideal candidate for this role will be results-driven, focused to meet and exceed goals, and is a conscientious worker who can manage unforeseen obstacles and provide thoughtful business solutions.

Position Purpose:

Reporting directly to the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), providing expertise, advice and counsel on investment and structuring opportunities with potential portfolio companies and other strategic partners. The Corporate Development Analyst is responsible for providing exceptional financial and analytical thought leadership within our enterprise to increase 3Sixty’s investment holdings. A strong contributor able to provide counsel the CCO regarding private equity interests within targeted markets using a solid command of valuation methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide insights and recommendations on investment opportunities to executive leadership and key stakeholders
  • Establish, develop and manage relationships with target companies, deal sourcing firms, and other company-specific stakeholders through all phases of the deal as required
  • Preparing quarterly reports for the Chief Commercial Officer for the CEO, President, Board of Directors on portfolio performance (strategic, operational and financial) as well as aggregate performance metrics as required
  • Identify and source potential deal opportunities from internal and external networks, key business partners, and investment banking contacts to drive deal flow from start to finish
  • Explore transaction structures in order to maximize potential economic outcomes while minimizing risks
  • Assess business and revenue/profit models of target companies, market dynamics, deal economics and financial potential of investments
  • Work alongside executive management and external partners to assess acquisition, investment and commercial transaction opportunities
  • Understand opportunity/build case for opportunity with key core business stakeholders and corporate development team and assist in the delivery of the initial business case
  • Develop and negotiate deal terms with target companies, sponsors or other relevant stakeholders as required
  • Manage investment stakeholders to ensure transaction objectives and timelines are met
  • Manage all aspects of due diligence covering business, financial, tax, legal, operating, etc. as necessary
  • Work with various stakeholders to develop final business case with a specific emphasis on transaction and financial related matters
  • Act as a resource to advise on post-close matters related to the transaction to ensure success
  • Develop opportunities for portfolio companies to maximize the economic value of their businesses as required
  • Assist in any subsequent capital raise activities for portfolio companies as needed
  • Willing and able to support CCO on portfolio company boards if required
  • Experience leading deal and contract negotiations, resolving complex business issues and structuring complex deals
  • Serving as the principal liaison to our executive management team providing a strong command of transaction structuring
  • Experience guiding others in resolving complex issues in specialized area based on existing solutions and procedures
  • Supervision of existing portfolio of investments, including strategic initiatives and evaluation of opportunities for acquisitions
  • Development and preparation of analyses for senior management and key stakeholders
  • Interaction with the executive management team to review M&A components, investment opportunities and equity considerations as needed
  • Development and maintenance of financial models, leading valuation activities and providing though leadership to executive team on M&A and investment opportunities
  • Collaborate with and support key stakeholders in the organization to discuss the evaluation of new investment opportunities as needed
  • Lead due diligence; evaluate industry and company dynamics, valuation practices and exit environment
  • Assist with the monitoring of our investment portfolio and other firm-wide initiatives as required

Profile and Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree, preferably in commerce or business administration (Post Graduate degree/MBA would be an asset)
  • 4-6 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, consulting or other relevant areas
  • Experience managing multiple stakeholders, advisors and work streams with in a private equity deal execution environment
  • High degree of adaptability, able to thrive in a changing environment, open to new ideas, takes on new responsibilities, handles pressure, and adjusts plans to meet changing needs as required
  • Proactive, able to deal with problems as they arise, focusing energy and resources on solutions; identifying new opportunities to action; taking on new responsibilities as required

  • Strong quantitative and analytical Skills with an in-depth experience with financial modeling, related research, problem solving, analytical and valuations skills

  • In-depth industry research and analysis, developing investment recommendations and participating in the negotiation and execution of investments
  • High degree of professionalism and integrity
